Hi everyone, Oprah has her favorite things, and if you are wondering what we use to run our little business, here is a list of our favorite things. We’ve included links to Amazon:

First, the software we use to edit our pictures is Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 [OLD VERSION].

But if you want the new version, then here’s the link: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 We’ll be trying out this version soon, we’ll let you know what we think of it.

To make our packaging look branded, we use Avery Clear Full-Sheet Labels for the black logo, (on the bag in this picture).

When we want to put our Limited Edition Tags in our clothes, we use these transfer sheets, and iron them onto white ribbon, and cut them apart. This is sort of complicated, so maybe we’ll do a separate post about it sometime. InkJet Iron-On Dark T-Shirt Transfers

Here’s another similar transfer product we use to create our clothes labels. Dark T-Shirt Transfers

We use these cute little boxes to send our boots and shoes. White Cake Box

We use these nice little bags for sending customers any jewelry that they buy. Favor Bags

This is the sewing machine I use a lot – It’s feature rich, and really reliable. Brother

When we place grommets in the grommet jacket, we use this – Crop-A-Dile Eyelet and Snap Punch

I use these 2-Part Eyelets 5/32 (black) or white for thicker fabrics. The brand is Prym Creative or Dritz. It looks like you can get black and white online. I’ve purchased the metal colored ones, pictured left, at WalMart in the Sewing Department.

And this type of  Eyelets if you’re using thin fabric.

These are my favorite scissors of all time! – You’ve got to try them… They’re tiny and super sharp. They work great for cutting thread very close to the fabric… Gingher Scissors

I use this trimmer to slice the iron on transfers in straight lines before ironing them onto the ribbon…Fiskars Paper Trimmer

I use this great rotary cutter to cut fabric, it works especially well on tulle and mesh- Fiskars Rotary Cutter

Okay, that’s enough for now, I’ll add more as I think of things…

  1. You mention in the cropped jacket pattern that you used 2-part eyelets because of the thickness of the fabric. I haven’t been able to find 2-part eyelets any smaller than 1/4″. I have some eyelets that look like the ones you show above, but they are not 2-part. Are they available in the smaller size, and if so, where? Thanks!

    • I’ve added a picture of the 2 part eyelets to the post. I haven’t seen the metel colored ones online, but they can be found at WalMart.

  2. Thanks, Cinnamon! I haven’t seen them at our Walmart, but I will look again next time I’m there. Thanks for a great website and helpful info! Cindy

  3. I have ordered the two part eyelets by googleing eyelets and find them under scrapbooking. Look in the scrapbook section of all these departments of Joann’s, Micheals etc. I did order from one site, just the backs of the eyelets.

    • I forgot to add, that I use 1/8 inch eyelets or gromments as some people call them. I like that size better.
